HOTEL GRAFFITI 1985 was shot in a hotel room at the Berkshire Place (a Dunphy Classic) at 52nd and Madison which is where guests of the show were put-up. This was shot on the fly, obviously after ordering room service and devoured a few bottles of champagne — in order, of course, to give a feeling of authenticity. Graphic designer Bill Shortridge stood on the bed holding an empty beer can, to look like a spray can. This bumper became a classic and was used to punctuate guests who talked about their stay in NYC. The show titles was applied to the master print with purple air brush. The neon graphic was shot from a prop, printed and applied to the print with spray mount.
